The CleverLoop alert system is based on a number of proprietary video analysis algorithms which look for major movements in the video feeds coming from each camera in your system.
These algorithms start working the moment you set up your system and become rapidly improve in detection accuracy through the analysis of your unique environment, and with the help of feedback from you.
Alarms vs. Movements
The Clever Learning Algorithm treats events differently according to their importance.
Alerts are for events identified as being important, such as a person walking into the field of view . You are instantly notified with a video alert to your CleverLoop security app and the video footage is recorded locally and to the cloud (you have the option to disable cloud backup of alert clips).
Movements are unimportant events, such as a pet walking past. You are not sent a notification and the video footage is only recorded locally (but can still be viewed from your mobile device).
How do I know if it's an 'Alert' or a 'Movement'?
Both of the above types of activity can be viewed via the CleverLoop app and it's easy to tell which is which.
If the activity has footage with it in a camera's timeline, then it is an alert. When it says 'Movement' in the timeline and doesn't have footage, it is a Movement. Clicking into both alerts and movements will allow you to view the video of the activity and on this page it will also say at the top of the screen 'Alert' or 'Movement'.
What if activity is not categorized correctly?
If you think CleverLoop has incorrectly categorized the activity, then simply press the button at the bottom of the screen where you are viewing this footage and it will change it's categorization.
This button says 'This should be a movement' on the alert page, and 'This should be an alert' on the movement page. Using this button slowly trains the algorithm to respond to your environment and learn what's important and what's not.
We strongly recommend you also use Fine Tuning, as per below.
Fine Tune Smart Detection
The Clever Learning Algorithm will work better with your adjustment specifically on your environment.
You can go to 'Camera Setting' page -> 'Fine Tune Smart Detection', where you can specify if camera is facing 'Inside' or 'Outside'. This is quite important, as we have designed two sets of algorithms to deal with different environments.
For indoor usage, you can choose to adjust the human sizes within the view. You can also select if the camera is going to need to ignore pets or not.
For outdoor usage, you can specify up to 3 'hotspots'. Hotspots are rectangles that you can draw on the scene the camera sees. Activities within these areas will be detected and analysed, any movement outside the hotspot will be ignored.
