You need to check your current camera firmware first.

Note: Please don't use Windows 'Edge' browser to check or update your firmware. Any other browser should work fine.

Note: This firmware check only applies for outdoor cameras and indoor X series cameras. M series cameras don't need to be updated - if you see that your firmware is V0.1.2.30, it means your camera is M series, so please don't update.

Please make sure your camera is powered on and is in good WiFi range. If it's easy to connect the camera to your router with an ethernet cable then this is the preferred way to do the update, but is not essential. Your phone must also be connected to the same router that your Base Station and cameras are communicating through (i.e. choose the WiFi network for that router rather than any other WiFi or mobile phone network).

  1. Open the CleverLoop app, and find 'Camera Diagnose' function, which you get to by pressing the 3 line icon at the top left of the home screen. It is located within 'Settings'.
  2. There should be a list of the IP addresses for cameras that are on your network. Choose the one that you want to check, and enter the IP address into your web browser. If you have multiple cameras, you'll need to compare the "DID" on the sticker on the actual camera with the one on the IP address list. If you find the list of cameras in Camera Diagnose please go to step 4. If you don't find the list of cameras in Camera Diagnose, please go to step 3.
  3. If you can't see any cameras listed in 'Camera Diagnose' (or the specific camera you are looking for), please check your phone is connected to the same network as your CleverLoop system. If camera(s) still don't show on the Camera Diagnose list, then please download an app called Fing onto your phone. You'll find this free app in the App Store. Fing will scan your network for all connected devices and provide you with the IP Address for each of them. You will be able to work out which devices are your cameras and enter the IP Address for the camera(s) which are showing in Fing, and that you want to check, into your web browser.
  4. After entering the IP Address into your web browser, you'll get a pop up asking you for the camera’s username and password. The default username is ‘admin’ and password is ‘123456’. If you have changed the camera's credentials then you will need to enter these new details.
  5. You can then enter the setting page for the camera by clicking either view mode. Then click 'Set Up' -> 'About', and you can see the 'System Firmware', which indicates the camera firmware you have right now. There is a screen shot at the bottom of this article that shows you where to look for the System Firmware detail.
