Firstly, please make sure that the Base Station is not in direct sunlight, sitting on top of another device which produces heat, or is resting on a surface such as carpet. The Base Station does produce heat, so doing what you can to make sure the unit does not receive additional heat from elsewhere (direct sun or heat from being on top of other devices such as routers or cable TV boxes) is a great start. Also, heat is released from the vents on the underside of the unit, and these can be blocked if the unit is resting on carpet.

The amount of heat generated by a Base Station is directly related to how hard the processor is working.

The thing that works the processor the hardest is generating alerts, and the number one cause of overheating that we see is people leaving their cameras armed all the time. Examples of this include leaving indoor cameras armed when you are at home or, in a business use situation, when you have staff and customers around during opening hours. This can mean the cameras are generating alerts continuously for periods long enough to overheat the Base Station, forcing it to switch off. This is not the intended use of CleverLoop, and is similar to leaving a standard motion detection security system armed with sirens going the entire time.

Flipping your Base Station upside down, so the air vents are up, can help with cooling, but it is more important to address the cause of the overheating

Your CleverLoop system is designed to be used such that false alerts are kept to an absolute minimum.
